A 2026 systematic review and meta-analysis, “The R A 2026 systematic review and meta-analysis, “The Relationships between physical activity, sedentary behaviour, sleep, and dementia” by Oye-Somefun et al., published in PLOS One, linked key daily behaviors to dementia risk. 

Compared with the reference groups:

• Regular physical activity → ~25% lower risk
• Sitting 8+ hours/day → 27% higher risk
• Sleep <7 hours/night → 18% higher risk
• Sleep >8 hours/night → 28% higher risk 

Best sleep range: 7–8 hours/night. 

Move more. Sit less. Sleep right.
